LONG RAGE COMPETITION

Our Long Range League starts Saturday Sept 24th. All shooters will shoot together on the same day.

Rifle league fee: $50

Pistol league fee $25

Shoot dates:

  • Sept 24 @ 1pm

  • Oct 22 @ 1pm

  • Nov 26 @ 1pm

The purpose is to help shooters develop skills in determining elevation and windage adjustments and holds on an independent level. No one outside the shooter may give elevation or wind calls or confirmation.

Long range rifle rules:

  • Any rifle eligible
  • 3 warm up shots at 300 yds (no spotter)
  • 5 shots at each distance for score (no spotter)
  • Must hit steel at each distance before moving to next distance
  • Only one hit allowed per target distance
  • Points awarded based on how many shots it takes to hit the target
  • 2 muligan shots with one spotter- if shooter hits target they can move to the next distance
  • 300 yd (10″ steel)
  • 400 yd (10′ steel)
  • 600 yd (16 ” steel)
  • 1000 yd (16″ steel)
  • No re-shoots
  • Winner decided by high score
  • Tie goes to a shoot-off. The closest shot tot eh bullseye @ 620yd on a large grid target

Long range pistol rules:

  • Any centerfire pistol or revolver is eligible, with our without optics, no pistol braces
  • Target is a humanoid steel target on steel range
  • 5 shots at 10 yd weak hand
  • 5 shots at 20 yd strong hand
  • 5 shots at 30 yd free style
  • 5 shots at 40 yd free style
  • 5 shots at 50 yd free style
  • Shooter must hit steel at each distance before moving to next distance
  • 5 points for hitting on 1st shot, 4 pts for hitting on 2nd shot, 3 pts for hitting on 3rd shot, 2 points for hitting on 4th shot, 1 pt for hitting on 5th shot, 0 pts for not hitting target (see muligan)
  • 2 muligan shots with one spotter- if shooter hits target they can move to the next distance but does not get any points. If they do not hit the next distance in 5 shots they have finished posting a score for the month
  • shooting must be standing unsuported
  • Winner will be decided by score
  • Tie goes to a shoot-off.
  • Shoot off will be 5 shots with weak hand at 20 yards- highest number of hits
